This is a quiz program for the Technician Class Element 3A written
exam. The question pool is extracted from the ARRL Technician Class
License Manual for Novice Class Licensees (1989) which states that
this question pool will be used on exams given after July 1, 1990
until at least October 31, 1992.
The question pool is broken down into subelement pool files which
correspond to the topical heading of the exam subelements. Pool file
names, Subelements, Exam Topics, and minimum number of questions
selected from each Subelement to make up the Technician Class exam are
as follows:

The program QUIZ.EXE uses the questions and answers to quiz you until
all questions are correctly answered. The ARRL License Manual is
really required to fully learn the material. The quiz program will
ask for a question pool file name - Enter the pool file name from the
above listing to quiz on that pool of questions. The quiz program
will ask every question in the pool and then go back thru any you did
not correctly answer until you get them all. You can stop at any time
by typing "QUIT" at any answer prompt. The file QUIZ.LOG will be
updated indicating successful completion of a quiz or errors and can
be examined at any time to review your progress.
If you want to quiz on the entire question pool (all nine subelement
pools - 323 questions) use the file name POOLALL. Unfortunately you
have to do the entire pool or start from scratch each time.
The letter answer to each question is shown on the same line as the
question number in the pool text file. A summary list of answers
to all questions can be found in the file TECHKEY.
Credit and thanks to Eugene Jones and Gerald Lindsey (Centerville, VA)
whose file FCCTEST on DAS SPITZEN SCHPARKEN Bulletin Board provided
the seed materials for this valuable learning tool. Please expand
this with other current Class exam question pools if you find them.
